1rst day
Arrival and accommodation in a hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

2nd day
Departure for BARI. Tour of the Castle, built by the Normans and re-handled under the domination of the Swabians, Angevins and Aragoneses. Tour of the Basilica of San Nicola where the mortal remains of the Saint are buried, the Medieval ciborium and Elijah’s Chair (XII century). Tour of the Romanesque Cathedral dedicated to SaintSabine, where it is possible to admire the Exultet scrolls, the ancient Apulian liturgical codex.

Lunch at a restaurant.

In the afternoon tour of TRANI: the Romanesque Cathedral, with its magnificent bronze portal made by Barisano da Trani (1180), the Castle of Frederick II of Swabia and the Abbey of Santa Maria della Colonna, built in 1098 by the Benedictines, where it is possible to admire the magnificent cross vaults.

Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

3rd day
Breakfast. Departure for CASTEL DEL MONTE, real masterpiece of theworld architecture, built by will of king Frederick II of Swabia. This octagonal shape castle has eight octagonal towers and staircases at its corners, that’s why it is possible to retrace astronomical and numerical secret harmonies in it. Nowadays, Castel del Monte is included among the UNESCO protected monuments.

Lunch in a restaurant.

Tour of RUVO, with its Medieval Cathedral, a perfect example of the Apulian Romanesque religious buildings.

Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

4th day
Excursion to the Karst caves of CASTELLANA, where the natural sculptures will generate enchanting lunar views and luminous reflections.

Tour of ALBEROBELLO, the capital of trulli (trullo is a rural dwelling, with a distinctive grey stone conical roof, probably derived from oriental methods of construction. Nowadays trulloes are considered world cultural patrimony and so included among the protected monuments of UNESCO.

Lunch in a restaurant.

Afternoon to be spent going shopping.

Return to the hotel, dinner with traditional Apulian recipes and tarantella music accompaniment.


5th day
Departure with luggage after breakfast to return home.
